National Partnership with the Children’s Miracle Network Demonstrates Pledge to Give Back
The nation’s largest salon franchise—Great Clips—continues to prove its commitment to the communities it serves through the brand’s Great Deeds® initiative. The call to action for Great Clips’ passionate franchisees, customers and corporate team members focuses on community, health, support and appreciation.
The brand raises millions of dollars every year that’s spread across an array of causes, but one of the most established is the brand’s partnership with the Children’s Miracle Network. Throughout the month of October, Great Clips locations nationwide team up with their local children’s hospitals in order to help raise funds and awareness for sick and injured children. By offering a $2 coupon to customers for their donation, Great Clips has found a way to bring awareness to an inspiring organization.
“We are so impressed by the level of support shown by our participating customers and expect to make another significant contribution to the Children’s Miracle Network at the end of this campaign,” said Great Clips Director of Communications Tammy Nienabar. “This partnership has been a priority for our brand for more than 15 years and we’re proud of the time and resources our franchisees have dedicated to making it so successful year after year.”
Franchisees like Ron Brooker and their managers like April Wallace from Great Clips in Hickory, NC are textbook examples of this dedication. They are both members of the brand’s top donating location for the third consecutive year.
“When you go to a big box retailer and someone asks whether or not you’d like to donate to a cause, as a customer, you don’t really feel connected to the organization or get anything in return,” said Wallace. “Great Clips gives something back to their customers, and that’s what makes us different.”
Wallace has been a part of the Great Clips family for 17 years, working closely with Brooker throughout the year to raise money and spread awareness throughout the Charlotte market. Understanding that the best way to do so is by hitting the pavement, Wallace organized a number of charity events to promote the partnership, ranging from Batman-themed bowling alley parties to princess tea parties.
“We had 25 young girls at our Great Clips location getting their hair done, sipping on hot chocolate and singing along with the actresses we hired to dress up as Elsa and Anna from Frozen. A portion of the proceeds went to our local children’s hospital, Levine,” said Wallace. “Experiences like this make customers want to return to our salon, which ultimately helps our stylists and creates a win-win situation for everyone.”
For 34 years, the Children’s Miracle Network has been raising funds and awareness for children across 170 hospitals. With the amount of support provided by a partner like Great Clips, the organization continues to see an increase in the funds it raises, ultimately furthering awareness of its important cause.
